Marketing Executive

Responsibilities:

This is a list of the functions/actions to be performed to deliver the necessary outputs and outcomes. 

Qualification:

  • Third Level education with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience 
  • Environmental / marketing communications or project management experience an advantage 
  • Knowledge 
  • Understanding of environmental issues and their political, economic, social and business implications 
  • Broad understanding of business concerns and competitive issues facing business  
  • Knowledge of both the local authority structure and policy making processes 
  • Good knowledge of Irish media environment 

Experience:

  • At least three years post-graduate work experience including project management 
  • Interfacing with senior executives from the private and public sector  
  • Experience of working with local authorities would be beneficial  
  • Public speaking in a variety of forums; participating on committees/project groups 
  • Experience of working in a diverse and demanding environment 
  • Experience of working with different stakeholders 

Management:

  • Planning, managing and delivering an integrated media campaign including digital and outdoor advertising, social media and a schools education campaign 
  • Managing the GLT design, creative and media buying agencies and working with them to develop engaging and impactful campaign materials 
  • Developing web copy and managing the GLT website.  Analysing and interpreting web and Facebook statistics to measure engagement and inform content  
  • Overseeing the branding, organisation, coordination and facilitation of GLT and local authority promotional events 
  • Planning, coordination and management of attitudinal surveys 
  • Evaluating success against key performance indicators, making recommendations and reporting results to stakeholders

The high profile national GLT public awareness campaign is carried out in line with a three-year agreement between the chewing gum industry (represented in Ireland by Ibec) and the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications. The campaign aims to reduce littered gum in Ireland by changing littering behaviour. Further information on the GLT can be found at http://gumlittertaskforce.ie 
 
Main purpose of the position 
The Markeing Executive is a pivotal role within the GLT. The Executive is responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of annual campaign activity (including advertising, schools education programmes, liaison with local authorities and pre and post campaign surveys) to time and budget.  In addition the job holder develops and maintains critical relationships with key stakeholders, including industry, Department of Environment, local authorities, other relevant state agencies and creative agencies. The job holder needs to work as an effective member of the FDI team under the direction of the Director of FDI.
