Description:
BookTrust is the UK’s largest children’s reading charity. Working with every local authority and across every region in England, Northern Ireland and Wales, and supported by Arts Council funding, we reach over 3 million families a year through schools, health visitors, libraries and other partners. This incredible network helps us to get children excited about reading from an early age. We know that children who read are happier, healthier, more creative and do better at school.
The Role:
- The role holder will work across the north of England – with extensive travel across the region and to other regions of the UK.
- The role holder will work from BookTrust offices in Leeds one day per week with the remainder of time being spent across the region and working flexibly from home or in partner settings.
Experience:
- Submit a written answer in no more than 750 words to the question below:
- “Can you tell us about a time when you have managed multiple relationships to deliver an outcome or to meet the objectives critical to organizational delivery. Please tell us how you approached and led the management and development of those relationships, measured success and built best practice”.

We get children reading in lots of different ways, but our priority is to get more children excited about books, rhymes and stories – because if reading is fun, children will want to do it. We run nationwide programmes – like our flagship programme Bookstart. We reach millions of families across the country each year with books, resources and advice to encourage parents and carers to start reading with their babies right from the beginning.
Much of our focus is on early years because we’ve learnt that starting early and involving the whole family is the best way to get children reading. We also work with schools to support teachers and school librarians to get children and young people excited about books and reading.
