Construction Manager
Job Purpose:
Responsible for the management of all construction activities in relation to a programme of works undertaken by Amey or sub-contractors. This role will have a base of Cumbernauld and/or Perth, with occasional travel to the site depots across central and the north east of Scotland.
This role would suit a candidate currently working in a similar position who has experience of managing Principal Contractors duties with a background within Term Maintenance Highways Contracts
About the Roe:
- Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation
- Deliver works programme to the client’s programme and budget
- Use construction solutions that cause minimum disruption to traffic
- Effective planning and use of supervisory resources
- Receive completed scheme designs and create programme of works, construction phase plans and arrange any required sub contract or supply chain support.
- Develop and maintain procedures to achieve certainty of programme delivery
- Liaise with others regarding supervision of works, including establishing required resource levels
- Responsible for the control and deployment of all associated resources (Plant,Labour,Materials) and ensuring accurate allocation and recording
- Ensure that projects are delivered to time and budget in accordance with the client’s programme and financial commitment
Qualification:
- Engineering qualification minimum of HNC, or equivalent, level qualification
- Operational Health and Safety experience or qualifications
- Must have demonstrable appropriate experience working on a trunk road maintenance Contract or having successfully fulfilled a role of a similar nature.
